Hanover Gallery Without William Turnbull Sculptures
2022
Inkjet using archival pigment on conservation grade paper
Overall dimensions of installation
900 x 750
Drawing based on a photograph of the Hannover gallery exhibition of the sculpture of William Turnbull 1950. Part of a series of drawings called 'They breathe the high air'. It explores and represents the result of AI manipulation on historical images of artists studios and galleries showing their work. The process of erasure was partly inspired by the erased de Kooning drawing by Rauschenberg. It is also a process of searching for a place within a place.
