These pairs of images are part of a series called 'Tracings'. The two different meanings of the word 'trace' are articulated. The photographic image is the point of departure and the drawing is traced from this original; The photograph is then treated to remove that part of the image that is drawn, but in a random manner that allows chance to intervene.
